#BookReview ; Ashvamedha by Aparna Sinha

"You have to dethrone a powerful man to become the most powerful. I was itching to defeat the single most powerful person, but there wasn't any. I was left with only one choice — to create one."

Little does Ashwin Jamwal know that the last twenty-five years of his life have been controlled by a master manipulator, who wanted to make him the most powerful man on earth, though for a reason! Ashwin steps up to take oath as the youngest Prime Minister of India and is unknowingly thrown into a vortex of power and authority as the entire world is threatened by a faceless enemy — Hades.
The world starts to look up to Ashwin as the savior, but he was just a pawn, reared only to be sacrificed in the end.
A story of greed, lies, deceptions, manipulations and corruption, Ashvamedha is a thriller revolving around the infamous game of power in a maddening bid to seek absolute control.

Ashvamedha, The Game of Power is a political thriller fiction written by Aparna Sinha. The author has a Master’s degree in management & worked for sometime but had to quit because of a chronic disease, she then decided to work on her passion of writing. She wrote her first poem when she was 7 which she recited on All India Radio. Her passion to write just started from that point, her literary work & industry specific articles have been published in various reputed magazines across Asia.

This political thriller story revolves around Ashwin Jamwal, a young energetic man who wants to do something for his country. His life takes twists & turns which lead him to join a political party after resigning from his job as a civil servant. Eventually his hard work along with dedicated PR paid & he gets to be the Prime Minister of India. His looks along with his belief to build a better India takes him to another level of fame but everything seems to crumble down when a non-descript entity who calls himself as Hades threatens all the countries to release a virus which will kill 75% of the world population. He also claims to be instrumental in Ashwin’s historical fame all around the world & wants to take his place instead which leaves Ashwin dumbfounded & confused. Read this power packed book to get a taste of the tug of war of power between several people which will take you to the age. Get it now!

First of all I’ll have to compliment the author to come up with such a complex story written in a simplistic way that it creates a web of deceits, secrets & plotting which will simply blow the reader’s mind off! The story isn’t just about politics but also the thirst of power which slowly develops in a person & that’s what makes it an unique read. The language used isn’t complicated at all, also the title is appropriate, the idea behind the cover is good but the graphics could’ve been a bit better as well as the editing but the story compensates all these points. A must read!
