A Home For Urvashi is a fictional novel about sisterhood written by Sanchali Bhattacharya & published by Harper Collins. The author is an electrical engineer from Jadavpur University & is the director of her own engineering & manufacturing company. Her short stories have featured in The Statesman. She is also the author of a novel titled Ashes & Roses.

The story revolves around twin sisters Dulari & Ujjwala, where Ujjwala has taken birth on the humane world Dulari keeps an eye on her sister through the spirit world. Dulari follows her sister & worries for her all the time, on the other hand Ujjwala has no idea of her sister’s existence. Dulari dreams to be together with Ujjwala by being born as her daughter & she patiently waits for the opportunity. After going through some hardships in her life Ujjwala finally has a loving family including a 3 year old child & plans to have another child. Dulari gets excited as this is her moment to be born as her sister’s daughter but then a man from Ujjwala’s past comes back into her life who knows a bit too much. Only Dulari can save her sister but that would mean she would’ve to sacrifice her dream. Will Dulari make the sacrifice? Will she be able to save her sister? Get the book here to know,

I wanted my last read of 2017 to be something special hence I was struggling to pick up any book, so when I decided to read A Home for Urvashi I was keeping my fingers crossed. I haven’t read enough books which celebrates or lays emphasis on the strong bond of sisterhood but I am glad that this one really did explored it. The story has been written beautifully with the situations written in detail. The author’s command over her words is admirable. The title is quite apt but honestly I didn’t liked the cover. I would recommend everyone to read it. A great read to end 2017.
