A rock climber. An artist. A neurosurgeon. An actress. What connects these diverse professions? Young women who’ve chosen unconventional careers and excelled despite the odds stacked against them. Empowering and revolutionary, Wonder Girls is a collection of fifteen inspirational stories about everyday Indian girls, their career choices and the challenges they’ve overcome to make a name for themselves in society. This book is an affirmation to all girls that they can be whatever they set their hearts on.
Wonder Girls is the debut work of Varsha Adusumilli &
has been published by Juggernaut. The author is an entrepreneur at heart. She
studied at BITS, Pilani – Goa & then immersed herself in the world of
start-ups. She was instrumental in setting up India’s pioneering seed fund
called Kstart, which focuses on investing in disruptive technology start-ups.

& is passionate about women, books, healthcare & start-ups.
This book focuses on an important topic which unfortunately
isn’t touched quite often in the Indian literature as much as we should. The
book narrates the success stories of 15 millennial women from diverse
backgrounds such as art, rock climbing, medicine, etc speaking about their
inspiring journey in today’s India. It also laid emphasis on the difficulties
women in India generally have to go through & despite all that shine
through it. Do get this book here in order share the inspiring journeys of all
the fabulous women listed in the book,
We have read many books about the social evils that pertain
in this patriarchal society & how it has always affected most women but
there is a lack of literature celebrating the lives of women who fought all the
orthodox societal notions & succeeded in their lives. This book is one of
the few books we have seen in the present times talking about everyday Indian
women making it big in their respective fields. All the experiences of the 15
women listed are indeed inspiring & is surely a ray of hope for our society
in general. The cover could’ve been better, the title is exactly how it should
be & so is the language used. Surely a wonderful read.
